ICE has worked with the
BAC and contractor members on state and federal legislative matters
concerning masonry contractor licensing and bidding processes, safety and
health issues and efforts to protect the work of ICE contractors and BAC
members from threats both within the U.S. and abroad. ICE has a
growing political action effort and focus, including the establishment of
the ICE Political Action Committee appointed from the ranks of ICE
Affiliates.
The Political Action
Committee will encourage, stimulate and provide the opportunity for ICE
Affiliates to take a more active role in political and government activities
that effect the unionized masonry industry. The committee will:
-
Monitor the legislative
environment for laws and regulations that will effect the unionized masonry
industry and proactively seek to influence legislation to the benefit of the
industry and ICE membership;
-
Provide support for
candidates for office, political party committees and other organizations
that support our issues;
-
Educate ICE members on
current legislative and political issues and provide them with guidance on
actions they can take to help address the issues;
-
Organize meetings,
forums and other political activities to give ICE membership the opportunity
to communicate our issues directly to lawmakers.
ICE is
also a member of the Quality Construction Alliance, an alliance of premier specialty
construction contractors' associations. |
